The science gets done, and you make a neat gun for the people who are still alive.

for those who read my blog via blogger.com you may notice a lot of updates to the page. all of my links and things went missing in the process so i will try to recover those. although, to be honest with you i hardly remember what most of them were. i also moved most of the important stuff (profile, archives, etc..) over to the left. and i added a neat title bar, created by yours truly. it's gots a neat picture of Miles Prower in it. anybody who knows me personally, would understand the significance of that. on the right, although no less important, i moved all my game related attributes. including a new thing that is essentially a excerpt from the blog that is written by my Xbox 360. now some of you may be thinking that i'm super lame for keeping a journal about my video game exploits, but it just does it on it's own, i swear. i just thought it was neat and they had a way to post bits of it other places so i did. i will admit that i do like reading what my Xbox has to say, and sometimes i post comments to it, and that IS kind of sad. for everyone not reading this on blogger, please ignore the previous message.

below this you'll find my many friggin' cards related to my Xbox 360 and coming soon, my nintendo wii. that's right i got a wii, and i'm mildly enjoying it. i guess i should have seen this coming though. i mean it's pretty much a gamecube, and i really didn't use my gamecube all that much. except for sonic the hedgehog and resident evil. not suprising that the only titles i own on the wii are also sonic the hedgehog and resident evil.

not much else exciting has been going on, my job keeps refusing to allow me any time to go visit my family and friends who are more than 8 hours away from here, 15 at least by bus. well i take that back, they are refusing to allow me adequate time to do so. and it's not as if i am asking for several weeks off, i just want 3 days. since two of them will mostly be occupied by bus travel. they also keep asking me to join viewpoint, the "community" group, even though i immediately shot down their request the first time they asked. pretty much i do not feel like signing up for a group that will have me outside doing volunteer work in this weather. it is bad enough sometimes that i am out there waiting on a bus to get to work. i think people who are into charity are great and all, but my charity cannot come in the form of something that does not cost me any money or will give me frost bite, then i am not interested.

also in relation to video gaming, for those who can't read it, i'm enterred in a contest for prizes pretty much just for playing video games and increasing my score. how neat is that! right now i'm not losing, but i'm in second place, and the other guy is whomping on my score. even though i managed to get about 1000 points in a little over a days time, he still ahead of me by around 300 points. madness! the prize for the challenge is 50 dollar giftcard to best buy. which i don't really deserve, but i could take full advantage of if i won it. but even if i don't win this time, there are still at least 3 other challanges that i'm planning. the final of which will be for an HD DVD player. granted if i win the the last one, i'll take the prize, but probably won't end up using it until the price of hd dvd's goes down.

the animation above is done by the author of VGCats, a webcomic i frequent, and is a reference to some of the latest pop culture info regarding a game simply known to it's fans as Portal. even if you don't know about the game, and you have no clue as to what's going on in the toon. you can still just enjoy it for the lyrics and images :D

just as an interesting side note, as i was about to submit this my browser went down. thankfully, blogger automatically saves progress. i was actually a bit pissed before i rememberred it does this on it's own, yay!

They tried to make me go to Wiihab, but I said no, no, no.

so i'm enjoying the snow so far. although, it's not very fun while wearing my work shoes, and i really wish i had my boots up here.

after standing in line sunday morning, before i had to work. i finally got my hands on a coveted Wii console. just in time too, because i think we were going to stop selling Sonic and the magic rings, which is one of the games that i actually want to play on the wii. i may try to take it home with me if i get the chance to go to my mom's house for christmas, but we'll see how that goes. my first impressions of the wii system, well i don't really have any. i haven't even opened the box, i've been too busy playing my xbox 360 still. but it has online play, and i gotta tell ya, i'm a sucker for being able to play games with others instead of by myself.

at work they shifted my job and as of sunday next week, i won't be a member of the media team. they didn't really ask, or even hint that they were planning to do this. they just kind of decided it was going to be done, and then felt that they should probably tell me about it later. my new position in the store will garnish me a full-time spot, pay raise, and the benefits from being a full time employee. all of this is a plus, but i really didn't want the job that i'm going to end up doing, so it's kind of disappointing that they just sort of shoved me into it without warning.

in addition, there is a new link to a second blog. it's called 360 voice. pretty much the concept is this, i play video games on my xbox 360, and somehow, some way, my xbox 360 then writes a blog about it. it usually gets posted a day later, and i'm not exactly sure what they are using to persuade my 360 to do this, candy i suppose. the whole things really kind of neat, like if i was a real big nerd, i would actually just blog this myself. however, i'm not that big of a nerd, but it's still cool to read the chronicles of my gaming console.

i should of known, oh here it goes again

ok so i'm totally not in this clip. but i just wanted to post something relative to... well... nothing at all. but i do have this game, rock band i've heard it called by some. since i work at best buy, we're apparently not allowed to buy it until after the second shipment or something stupid like that. so i just got the solo game, i can wait to get the drums some other time in the future. like after the fix all the problems they've been having with them.

a quick turkey day shout to all my friends and family, and anyone else who reads this blog :D i know this is a short post, but in light of the holiday. i will be up at two in the morning, and at work by 4. selling who knows what to who knows whom. what i fail to understand about the day after thanksgiving sales is simply this: people lose there friggin minds over what they may or may not even be able to purchase at some rediculously low price. they practically maime each other to get things at a bargain, and for some reason, we as u.s. americans such as... encourage them to do this every year. what the buck? shouldn't we be discouraging this type of behavior. myabe the day after thanksgiving sales should be outlawed, i'm sure that the behavior that is displayed at them certainly should be, and in most countries it probably is.

Cuz this is how we go out

i don't even know where people come up with this stuff, but i think it's too great not to share. leslie hall and dj dr. laura (at least i think that's her name). the songs actually not that bad, but the video makes it seem a little less credible and a lot more hilarious.

so i'm in my new apartment and my computer is all set up, my clothes are unpacked and for the most part are folded or hanging in the closet. now all i really have left to do is join the local YMCA, and get a car. in no particular order. i actually don't mind riding the bus here.

i'm actually waiting up for Zune marketplace to release the new cd from Gorillaz, yes i'm that bored. it's only technically new, it's called D-Sides and contains songs that were only previously available either through special edition cds, or via their website. very similar to the idea behind the Killer's latest cd Sawdust. if nothing else, i'll just pick up the cd at work tomorrow while trying not to get pummelled by the people there to pick up rock band.

Aren't we friends? Sooo what's the problem? Let me borrow the top!

i finally managed to move up to milwaukee. right now i'm staying with some family, but i've already lined up a place to move into in the coming weeks. which i'm really looking forward to, because they are slowly driving me insane here. very slowly, and to an extent, somewhat painfuly.

i pretty much will be renting a room in an apartment close the best buy that work at. i like the new store, but it doesn't really have the same crew. i miss all my homies at the evansville best buy a bunch. even more so because the people i work with here seem like they want to be at work at all.

i checked out one of the other stores in the area, oddly enough, the store i work at is a greater distance away than the one i went this afternoon. which sucks because it's a really nice store, and the people that work there were cool as well. i kind of wish i had gotten transferred to that store instead, but perhaps i'll just work really hard to get the store i work at up and running. another thing that's kind of concern for me. the best buy location that i tranferred to seems really, really slow on the floor. sure it'll pick up the for the holidays, but it's already halfway through november so that place should be constantly busy. i have a nagging feeling they are going to close that best buy, it doesn't seem to be much of a hotbed of activity. i hope not, but at the same time, i could probably get a job at the other one if it does, who knows.

the bus system here is as good as i remember. i've had little problem getting where i need to go. and the busses now have little monitors on them that use this kind of gps strip map to tell you what stops are coming up, and it announces the connecting busses at that stop if there are any, neat! it's really good at night when it's too dark out for me to read the signs.

oh, what i picked up best buy. well pretty much all i brought home was a receipt. a thousand dollar receipt! but i got a t.v. and computer and a wireless router. and some cables for setting it up all together. what i wanted to do was get a LCD t.v. that i could set up and as the monitor, but i also wanted to use it to play video games on. the main issue i ran into was i didn't want to spend a ton of money, but i needed the t.v. to either have a VGA or DVI input on it. the other way i could have done it was to purchase a computer that has DVI output on it and use a DVI to HDMI cable. the latter proved to be the more expensive of the two. i ended up with a 32" insignia t.v. and gateway computer with 2gb of ram and 400gb of harddrive space. it also had a pocket drive expansion bay. which i didn't really want, but it seemed standard on all of the gateway and hp computer system.

oh yeah, bus t.v. also shows news headlines along with a short summary of what the story is about, and i couldn't believe i read this on there. so i went to look it up. here's the exact article: http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSN0938888020071110 it just so happens when i googled it, the first link was actually the news source that transit t.v. uses for their headlines. is it me, or does it just seem weird that they actually had to bann a teacher from carrying a gun to school?

i would do anything, well... short of beating a nun to death with a sack filled with puppies

so, interesting day at work yesterday. they asked me to come in to ride along on deliveries. i'm not exactly sure what happenned to whomever was supposed to go, but i replaced them. hey, whatever gets me extra hours. it was pretty decent for the most part, lots of driving, i think i slept for most of it. of course, these were all places i had never heard of, or just streets i've never been near in evansville.

at any rate, the whole reason i'm really mentioning this is for the following: one of the last few deliveries we went on was to the place out in/on yankeetown. we get there, and the is this rather large woman on the porch, who a. doesn't bother to get up, b. doesn't even bother to turn around to talk us, and c. was probably to heavy to do either one. so she has her son show us where we are supposed to put the new washer. so he walks us in to what appears to be a house, which has seemingly exploded inside another house. i mean seriously, this place was not to be believed, unless you watch a lot of those home cleaning shows. like clean sweep with miss nash of reno 911 fame. there were clothes, food and a random assorment of other shit just stacked everywhere. don't get me wrong, i can understand that her old washer was probably broken, but the piles of clothes were not there because they were simply waiting to be washed. unless i suppose, she had 15 other people living in the house with her. not only was the sink overflowing with dishes, but then there were like containers of dishes next to the sink. the floor was missing tiles, in the same way that an oft-traveled path had worn away the grass. plus, there had to be at least a dozen cats. at least one dog, and green fishtank, with fish still in it! on top of everything else, was like an inch thick layer of coco powder, or dust. at this point it was very hard to tell. ok, so we grab her old washer, and it's cover, and while the other guy was disconnecting the hoses from the back of their washer, the kid asks if he wants him to turn the light on. why, oh why did he turn on the light. trust me, clearly seeing everything did not help in this case. so when i actually grab the washer is covered in some kind of glaze. i shit you not, the entire thing was coated in dust bunnies and that gel that comes in a can of spam. we get it out of the house, and wade through her lawn, making sure to wipe our feet before stepping outside again. then we replace the old unit with a brand new like 900 dollar whirlpool unit. at this point my head nearly explodes, because i just don't get where she can scrape together a grand to spend on just a washing machine, and we get to leave. if any of you have seen the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, i'm pretty much just going to make that comparison. the exception being that i wasn't killed by some nutjob in a mask wielding a chainsaw, but everything else was there.

they also called me in to go on deliveries today, but i chose not to go. oddly enough, it had nothing to do with above experience. like i said, most of the trip went well. i just happen to have no money until thursday, and so i wouldn't have been able to get anything to eat while we were out doing deliveries. apparently they don't come back to the store for lunches. which is good to know, and if they ask me to come in tomorrow, i probably will.

in other news, i still haven't heard back from the northridge location in milwaukee concerning my job transfer. which i pretty much feel just isn't going to happen. i would ultimately have to go by the end of october, and i pretty much just feel that it's already too late to even try to find a place to live blah blah blah. so i guess i'll be stuck in this black hole that is evansville for another holiday season. after which, i probably won't be working at my job anymore. i mean i really like it, but if i just have to find a completely different job to move out of evansville, then so be it. it is really not worth spending any more of my time here.

p.s. -- the rock band campus tour is going to be in milwaukee, wisconsin this weekend. and i'm so pissed that i don't get to attend.

MVP oh yeah that's me!

ok so i actually had someone mention the fact that i no longer really blogged anymore. it's definitely something i've been slacking at, but perhaps i can do a little better if i keep it in mind.

ok, about the title, I work at a little store called best buy. i'm sure not many people have heard of it, we sell like electronics and stuff. well recently i've been in the process of trying to transfer stores to a milwaukee location. today we had a monthly meeting at the gob awful time of 7 in the friggin morning. i tend to hate these meetings with a passion for two reasons. one, there is always some kind of jackassery that we are forced to do, water balloon fights, rock paper scissors competition, tug-of-war, etc... and two, it's friggin seven in the morning! wtf! can we not find a better time to do this crap, i mean the store is only open until 7 on sunday, how about after work then? at any rate, so after the morning meeting is over, they are doing what is called recognitions. it's exactly what it sounds like. they recognise people for doing outstanding stuff in the store for the quarter. typically, this is the part of the meeting where i kind of tune out. it's like they announce someone, say what they've done, and they are like these "prize packs" from best buy. pretty neat little schwag inside. so they call my supe Kristy up, and i go to clap, but the recognition isn't for her. so she starts talking a i swear it's like a celebrity roast about me. it was pretty funny actually, but it also gave me a good idea of how much people are aware of me at the store. it was nice. oh, and then my manager totally blew my cover on the whole transferring to milwaukee, at which point everyone pulled out pitchforks and torches. a good time was had by all.

on and interesting side note, a friend of mine bought and owl, it's name is rita, but not to be too impressed. it's stuffed, and apparently lives in his starbucks cup. he really needs to have his debit card cut up.

Guitar Hero Street Team

Check out the link, sign up, might be good for you. I mean I don't really see how it could be bad.

I'll also be keeping a copy of the banner on the side of the page because it's too large of an image to fit in the sidebar.

if you read my blog at all, please click on the banner, even if you don't play guitar hero or own a video game system. i'm in a contest for the most unique clicks, so i could use all the help i can get. thanks all.
