so, much to my dismay. my zune has locked up and ceased all functionality whatsoever. i have had it for a year, and i have tried to be gentle with it as humanly possible. still, i feared the worst. turns out, this is not an incident affecting me alone. seemingly everyone own a 30gb zune -- which is pretty much the first generation if it were an iPod -- have locked up in a similar matter. so i decided to check out the zune website and see if they had any information seeing as how it had already gone pandemic. get this, the 30gb zune has a flaw in it where it is not able compensate for the extra day in a leap year. really!? i mean is this the first leap year ever? so the solution is to sit and wait until tomorrow when it should reset itself back to the first, and they hope to have it fixed or patched by next leap year in 2012. so, i am stuck without music for at least the rest of my drive to work later. which only sucks because it is new years eve, and i am almost positive it will be ridiculously busy on the roads tonight. even more so at the bars, one of which i will be serving at this evening. if you plan to drink at all, call a cab. if you drink at a friends house, see if you can crash there later. just do not get totally sloshed and hop behind the wheel afterward. it is not as if police won't be out looking for that on this, the most drinkingest night of the year.
thanks to everyone for all the grand birthday and christmas wishes. as well as the many giftcards i received. the thing about giftcards, and i think this is what people overlook, they enable you to get someone exactly what they want. i know i did. i bought a 120gb harddrive for my xbox 360, and it was a welcomed upgrade let me tell you. no more deleting any of my dlc to make room for new stuff. i also picked up seasons one and two of heroes on dvd. while i was there, i grabbed a copy of labyrinth as well, that is some good tv viewing right there. i also got denny's giftcards, and normally i think giving food giftcards is really lame. in this case, however, i think they actually put a lot of thought into it. the reason being is that after a shift at the bar, the other bartenders and myself will often frequent denny's. so it is actually a really we planned out giftcard. plus, it came with coupons!
on a quick note, not only is tomorrow new year's day, but it is also the first day of the 100k for Child's Play. what is that you may ask yourself. well, hopefully i will be able to explain more about that tomorrow. suffice it to say, that my friends came up with a really cool idea, and i jumped at the chance to be a part of it because it is a charity i really believe in.

i fall, like the sands of time
ok, so i have not updated in so very long, i actually had to read my last post to see what i had talked about last. so very much has happenned since then since my last post was about my now no longer recent seperation from best buy.
needless to say, best buy northridge gets the epic fail because i am still a best buy employee. despite their best efforts to fire me, and blacklist me in the milwaukee area. i am still working for best buy to this day. granted it is a completely different location, but for anyone who has been following, you will know that this is actually a great success.
i ended up moving back to evansville, in southern indiana. so southern that they don't even share a timezone with the rest of the state. my family moved here some years ago, and i have lived here for a year prior to me going back to milwaukee, so i already knew what i was in for.
i have also adopted a part-time job at one of the local bars. which is fun for the most part. you will not hear any complaints out of me about the pay. between the actual paycheck, and the tips that i make there. it is very decent supplemental income. plus, it was a bar i used to frequent when i lived here a while back, and so i know most of the people that come in on a regular basis.
there is so much more i need to update, and i will try to get back into it. without my bus trips to and from work, i no longer have the time to devote to my blog that i once did. needless to say, i will strive to catch it up to date and keep it as current as possible.
now if you'll excuse me, i have a vLog that could use my attention as well.

cause this life is too short to live it just for you
ok let me start with this:
i am standing near the busstop waiting for, not suprisingly, the bus. i was standing under a tree next to the sidewalk in order to partake in its shade giving abilities. because i was at the last stop of the route, the bus could come in from either direction on either side of the street. so i look behind, and there is this old woman just standing there maybe like two feet away. just standing, and staring my direction. this totally freaked me the fuck out. regardless, i turned and tried to pretend i did not know she was there. i tried to convince myself that she was waiting on the bus too, and was, like myself, enjoying a bit of shade while she waited. if she was saying anything to me, i would not have been able to hear it because of my decision to listen to my zune any time i take the bus. the bus eventually arrives, i board, and through my periphery i can see she has not budged. once i am on the bus, and take my seat. i notice she has moved to the spot i was standing in prior to getting on the bus. she then appears to watch me as the bus pulls away. how fuggin' pod person is that?! madness i say, madness!!
at any rate. i am taking the bus up to best buy. it was requested that i come in, without explaining why. i am going to guess that it is to sign my termination paperwork. i gotta be honest, if that is the case, i may be filled with never ending rage. i can really find something better to do with three hours of my time than going to sign a piece of paper. they would shit out of luck if had a car, because i certainly would not waste the gas to do that. plus, how do they feel that it is even rational to expect people to come in just to be fired. there should be some kind of law preventing. especially with cost of travel these days. if i had not already purchased a bus pass for the week i sure as hell was not going to waste four dollars and three hours on this trip. i mean it is not as if you have to agree to being fired. why the hell is there even a form for that? as if not signing it would garner you employment again.
if i am still employed, the i will still be pissed, but only slightly less so than previously stated. i am just that irritaded with the whole situation. sure i could be upset that i have missed a week of work, but they have to pay me for missed hours. sure i can cry about the stress i have had to put up with, but having nothing to get up for in the morning is suprisingly not as stressful as one would imagine. i think the thing that would irk me the most i having to do their inventory on sunday, tuesday, and wednesday for their inspection.
needless to say, i am already looking into travel arrangements for myself and my belongings back to evansville. checking in on rental prices, talking with family, what have you. plans that will go into effect when i get the official ruling. i know most people would think this is being extremely negative, but consider these facts. things do not typically work out in my favor. the more i rely on things to just work themselves out, they more epiic their failure. also, i failed to mention that the gm had already contacted my transfer store and told him he expected me to be fired. this was before hr even contacted me. when i mentioned this to hr, she seemed not concerned in the least. if that is not foretelling you were planning to fire someone before the issue was even remotely resolved, i do not what is. it would be like calling someone's family members to let them know they will be dead on friday. then when they end up murderred, not expecting be a key suspect in the crime.
this has clearly been a premeditated act. which i have already contacted hr about their plans to fire employees from the warehouse for theast two months. they also seemed mildy uninterested in that information as well. well lucky me, it has come to fruition, so either way, this is long from over. if i have a job, then i am going to pursue a case against the gm. if i do not have a job, then i will pursue a case against best buy. either way, i will aspire to earn my job back. of course not at the same location, but none the less, the goal is the same.
all in all, i expect and prepare for the worst. if something good happens instead, then will pleasantly suprised. this is my primary tactic for avoiding disappointment.
