so a little bit of an update, my binder has not yet been recovered by the bus system. the person who answered the phone encouraged me to call again on monday becuase apparently they only move them on a weekly basis. so the thing i lost yesterday may not get there until then.
my manager did not show up until an hour after we were supposed to be at work. i am not certain why it is that our management team cannot arrive on time to work ever. one manager opens monday through thursday, he is always early. the other managers split -up who open for the other three days. but they cannot even arrive on time for that one day out of the week. i think that is rediculous. to add to that people have been fired for showing up minutes late. so for the next five that i have left, i will be logging the opening manager and the time they came in to the store. then i may have drop that information off where it could be useful.

i hear in my mind all of this music, and breaks my heart
apparently, at some poing along my ride home yesterday i abandonned my binder. the best case scenario is that i left it on the bus and the bus driver grabbed it for lost and found. worst case, i left it on the bus stop and it was snatched up by gawd knows who. while i am fairly certain that i did not leave it on the busstop. i am not entirely hopeful that someone turned it in to the bus driver either. i will not know either way until their offices open so that i can call their lost and found. no presuming they actually have it there. i really have no idea how i am going to go about retrieving it because i work monday through friday weekly. considering they have banking houes for customer service, i doubt they will have anybody there on the weekends.
another week is coming to a close at work, leaving me with five more weeks before i can transfer stores. also, after preventing the transfer of myself and other employees. it has come to my attention that they are trying to force another employee out of the store. one of the very same employees who was trying to transfer out of the store anyway. apparently, they feel he is "uncontrolable" as an employee. how does this work with them saying how much they needed people, and that we are all great employees. i mean it is not as if this sort of thing happens overnight. if they thought that person was such a crum bum before why not just let them transfer when asked. why is it they suddenly are aware of his/her uselessness now? also, if you think an employee is terrible, why would you encourage another store to take them off your hands? could it be that you had already planned to fire that employee, but when word got back to hr that you were premeditating their termination and so you had to come up alternative methods rid yourself of said employee. now i am no conspiracy theorist by any means, but i find it strange that would suddenly want to pawn off the very same employee that you fought tooth and nail to retain. needless to say, after i resolve my issue in the "case of the absconded binder". i will more than likely drop a bug in someone's ear about the current goings ons.

poison in my cup
yesterday was faily decent up until the end. all this would have moot had i just gone out for groceries this weekend instead of trying to go during the week. at any rate, i had to pick up some orange juice and milk. it had been raining yesterday morning, but had since stopped. then the temperature rose to around seventy without actually removing any of the overcast. so it was fairly muggy by the time i was off from work.
i trekked over to pick'n save from best buy, made my purchases and headed back out to the closest busstop. on my way to the busstop, i began feel like my left asscheek was wet. i looked down and discovered that my bag was leaking. i opened it and found that my powerade had unscrewed itself enough to cause a slow leak. it had also coated my right show with powerade. luckily, i had actually left my binder at best buy, but more on that in a moment. it was also a good thing that the book i had purchased was in a plastic bag. everything else faired wel due to the fact i do not usually keep things inside the large pouch that are not foodstuffs.
eventually, the bus showed up, and i patted myself down in a fruitless attempt to locate my bus pass. it was just gone. most people at this point would retrace their steps. i was almost positive that i had taken it out at work and left it in the warehouse. so i hiked back up to best buy, found the pass, headed back to the busstop, and headed home. it was almost like that book "alexander and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day", except i am sure there was some resolution at the end of that back. in my case, it just did not get any worse. sure, the cat puked on the floor, but at least it had not puked on my pillow.

i'll be you boyfriend 'til the song goes off.
good news everybody! yesterday, while i was at work, i was talking to our microsoft rep and he told me about a n awesome app for my zune. the short version is that combining some different microsoft enables my zune to play video games. i usually try to keep up on all of the gaming news, but at whatever point this happenned, it went completely under my radar. there does not seem to be any major development as far as this is concerned. all of the games thus far have been pretty much those that you would expect to see that hobbyists have spent time making from games as old as time, tetris for example. this is great because there are so many games that are designed for simple interfaces such as cell phones. these are titles that becuase of their simple control schemes have the potential to end up on the zune. i was also given some hopefully positive news about the future of zune. i will not say anything about it because it is not my place to do so. i certainly hope it is true, and i will patiently for a more "official" announcement to discuss it more.
the software that being used to create/emulate games for the zune is also making waves in the 360 live community. this software, referred to as xna, finally allows some people to create games that will be available via xbox live arcade. the benefit to gamers is that this will introduce a new medium of xbla titles that they in fact have the potential to create. the benefit to creators is the potential to introduce money to their wallets. who knows, there could be some great titles to come out of this. i am also sure this will also open the floodgates for a lot of terrible games. hopefully nothing worse than the wii.

hey there delilah what's it like in new york city
so anyone who knows me would definitely know that i am not a big fan of smoking, or tobacco products in general. i can find few things that are more disgusting than a person toting around a dr. pepper bottle of brown spit. then, a woman this made me realize something, people do not through cigarrettes away. no matter where they drop them, they pick them up, occasionally dust them off, and presumably put them back in their mouth. the woman on the bus dropped hers on floor, and then let it roll around a bit while she chatted with the bus driver. before she took her seat, she snagged the cancer roll-up.
now do not get me wrong, i like wiping my mouth on the inside of the city bus as much as the next person. well, if that next personally were legally insane and prone to hepatitus i might. since none of this applies to me, i do not worry all that much. what i fail to understand is this: smoking is one of the most harmful things you can do to yourself legally. yet people are willing to compound that by adding the swill found in the public transportation system. what makes people want to do that?
i do not want to get all preachy because i really just do not understand the allure of smoking. here is what it appears to be. people are taking leaves, smothering them in tar, wrapping it in paper, setting the whole thing on fire, and then putting it in there mouth. why does this seem healthy to anybody? all medical issues aside, did nobody else learn that in a fire, people are more likely to die from smoke inhalation than actually be burned to death. i mean they teach you that in like after you master primary colours. if you never grasped the idea that smoke is bad for you, i cannot help but think that when you are suffering from illness later in life that is all your fault. stop blaming tobacco companies. as far as i cant tell, people have been encouraging others not to smoke since grade school. more importantly, thank you for picking up you smokes because i hate litter. can you also pick up the butts and throw them away?

fly me to the moon, and let me play among the stars
i watched the opening for the olympics on friday evening. i would personally like to thank china for trying to induce a mass coma to viewers around the world. i am guessing that was their goal. even when there were shots of the audience that were in the birds nest, those people appeared to be bored and disinterested. i was a little relieved to g.w. impatiently looking at his watch from the stands. i can honestly say that i was bore to tears, and had to fight off sleep to even finish. i do not think that i have ever seen the opening ceremonies of any olympic games, and the commentators claimed this was one of the better ones. if that is the case, i will not being watching them in the future.
ok so the bus broke down again this morning, so i had to grab the second bus out. at some point i would imagine they should start question the people who are inspecting these busses. luckily, for me at least, it was the second bus. so i should still arrive to work on time because an additional bus arrived shortly thereafter. the bad thing is, even though the bus routes have the same starting and stopping points, they do not neccessarily travel the same path to get between them. so i imagine that there are several people who will not get picked up at all until the next bus comes around. plus, the busses keep breaking down for the same bus driver. i kind of feel bad for her because she is the reguklar driver, and is fairly nice to everyone. now if that other lady was in a bus that broke down, i would probably laugh and spit in her face, in no particular order.
today begins the coutdown to the inspection for the store's inventory. i have also recently discovered that i am not responsible for it in any what-so-ever. this puzzles me, seeing as the only reason they are allowed to keep me in the store was for that exact purpose. i find it strange that someone else will be given the responsibility of the task (someone that the store has dubbed as quite the idiot i might add), and then i still have to stay here. i am not sure i can understand it. at any rate, it is one less thing i have to spend my time on. plus, it now is ammunition for me not to help with any exhaustive tasks that are not specifically related to my job. tasks like providing insight on how to set things up for said inspection.
