"because of an inept black man!" oh that's right, she went there

in case you have been living under a rock, a rock without access to youtube, then you may not be familiar with the name Harriette Christian. no doubt if you have heard about her, it was probably on some station blasting her and her rant.

now i am the first to say i enjoy a good rant. hell, rants are what make up most of my daily internet musings. i will say this, what she did was not a rant. if anything, it was a very passionate speech. i realize they are trying to make her look like a crazy person, and quite possibly like racist by focussing on a particular quote. the one where she is saying Barak Obama is not qualified to be president. now maybe the words she used could be found offensive, i did not feel so after seeing the entire length of footage. maybe the way she pesented seemed overly agressive, but again she was voicing herself, and she wanted to be heard. she definitely has been.

i do not know how accepting the rest of the world is with what she had to say. all i ask is that you take the time to listen to her all the way through. hear what she is saying, and notice the conviction in her voice. check out the interview she did afterwards. she is there becuase she genuinely belives that we are all be ing jaded. you may just end up thinking, "you know, maybe she has a point." that, in itself, is why it needs to stop being called a rant. all i am asking that you give her chance to be known as an intellectual person who stood up for something she honestly believes in. as opposed to a crazy lady on a racist rant. i would also point out, that if she were racist, i mean truly, truly racist, i do not think she would have any qualms with just calling Barak a stupid n!gg3r. afterall, look at Michael Richards.
